Food Highlights
We often come here for fresh fruits and orange juice, but snacks are the real draw. The Turkish gözleme and zucchini burger from Mama's Food Manufaktur, cooked fresh by a group of women who seem to be there every time we visit, is one of our favorites. Sometimes there’s live music nearby by street artists, making it an even nicer spot to sit and enjoy your food.
One of our best discoveries here has been the hummus and aubergine pita bread from Nohut. They bake the pita fresh right in front of you, and the smell alone will pull you in. We’re always hoping to find them there, but they don’t set up a stand every time we guess. If you’re lucky enough to spot them, grab a hummus and aubergine sandwich for us too!
Best Market Experience
Saturday mornings are the busiest and most atmospheric time to visit. Come hungry, try a few different snacks, and take your time exploring the stands. If the weather’s nice, grab something to eat and enjoy it outside. The surrounding cafes are also great for a coffee break and people-watching.
Best Time
Saturday mornings for the full atmosphere and the widest selection of stands.
Insider Tip
Keep an eye out for Nohut’s pita bread stand—if it’s there, don’t miss the hummus and aubergine sandwich.
