Eat Pancakes at annelies
Food & Drink Experience in Kreuzberg, Berlin
About This Experience
annelies is a neighborhood café in the heart of Kreuzberg serving a small but thoughtful breakfast and lunch menu. Their focus is on quality ingredients and simple dishes done well—like their signature buttermilk pancakes or the soft scrambled eggs on sourdough. They serve coffee from La Cabra (Denmark), offer natural wines, and source pastries from Albatross Bakery. Whether you sit inside, on the terrace, or across in Görlitzer Park, it's a relaxed spot that makes slow mornings feel special.
A Brunch Spot Worth the Hype
annelies has built a quiet reputation for doing things well—especially when it comes to pancakes. Their buttermilk pancakes with granola, maple-berry syrup, and cultured cream are one of the standouts. Fluffy inside, a little crispy outside, and just sweet enough without being too much.
More Than Just Pancakes
The scrambled eggs on sourdough toast (from Sofi) are also a favorite—topped with smoked egg yolk and fennel kimchi. It's a simple dish, but with interesting layers and flavors. The rest of the menu is small, but everything we've tried has been really good, including their croissants and other pastries.
Atmosphere & What to Expect
The café is located in Kreuzberg and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. It gets busy on weekends, but we've never waited more than 5–10 minutes. Just a heads-up for summer visits: wasps tend to love the pancakes too 🐝
The staff usually mentions it, and as long as you're relaxed about it, it's still a nice spot to sit outside. It was not bothering for us at all, highly recommend it.

Insider Tip
Get there early on weekends or you'll be waiting forever. Oh, and their coffee is just as amazing as the pancakes!
